Just pointing this out, I was flipping through the book on Amazon via the "Look Inside" feature. On page 14, you have the Polo Grounds panorama, and you mentioned that it was probably Giants-Phillies because, the Giants weren't in the postseason that year. I think you might be incorrect on that point though. I was alway under the impression that game was essentially an exhibition between the Highlanders and Giants, Aka the All-New York game.

It seemed fairly common for the times, and their are comparable panaromas from the era of October "all-Chicago" games Cubs between the Cubs and WSox.

Figured I'd mention it because I have a copy hanging in basement. Maybe I'll take a look through the times archive to see if I can find any relavant info on the game.
