Gene Handley, a former Philadelphia Athletic post-war outfielder and one of the oldest living major leaguers, has died at age 94. Handley reached the major leagues after his 31st birthday and produced some good numbers for a part-time player, with the A's in 1946 and 1947. He hit .252 in 341 at bats and 125 games for the postwar Philadelphia A's, his only major league team. Of slight frame (5'11", 165 lbs.), the righthanded hitting outfielder had no major league home runs. According to Wikipedia, before his death in mid-April of this year, he was considered the 12th oldest living major leaguer.
