Can anyone give me advice on St Louis? I have never been and I have tickets for Fri 6/26 & Sat 6/27 we are staying at the Milleniem (like 2 blocks from Bush) places to eat and drink would be helpful and your takes on the ballpark.. then we are off the Kansas City for 2 games, I have been there a few times but not since they remodeled the K....

Maz,
Would recommend dinner @ Mike Shannon's on Market St. - not far from the Millenium. Very good steaks, great memorbilia throughout the restaurant. Carmine's steakhouse is also very good - Also not far from your hotel. For pre/post game beverages, would recommend PaddyO's or Al Hrbosky's. Lots of A-B/Inbev beers!
The park is very open, especially compared to old Busch. I always enjoy the open areas in the outfield.
Wear something red!
Cheers!

Thanks Broker, How far is the Brewery from that area? I would like to take the tour and also see the arch...

Maz,
The Brewery is a 10-15 minute cab ride from downtown. The tour is worthwhile, esp. the fresh samples at the end!
The arch is right there downtown. Pretty cool to go stand next to, take photos, etc, but not worth the wait to go up to the top, imho.
Cheers!

The arch is a good distance from the stadium, but it's not a particularly bad walk. You can take the train from the stadium to the arch stop. It's really pretty easy.
I'd second the Mike Shannon's recommendation as well.

Re KC
Arthur Bryant's for authentic KC BBQ is a must - You can eat there, or, take it to go and tailgate in the parking lot. The Sports Complex parking is all on site - Best tailgateing this side of Lambeau Field!

Hey Maz, welcome to BBF.
Can you take some pics of Kauffman when you go? That'd be sweet.
You're gonna love tailgating there.

Gates is good, but either Oklahoma Joes or Smokestack are better, imho.
I'll be heading to KC later this spring to check out the renovated "K".
Cheers!

Seating Recommendations from anyone for Busch III, seems to be only a couple Card fans on this board. Maz, where are you looking at seats for Sunday? I'm hoping to order my tickets next week, just need confirmation that someone if going to come with. Anyway's we need to trade info when I can make it to game so we can hit up some bars or something.

Maz,
I trust that you'll be wearing a Don Baylor jersey and waving a 1987 homer hanky at the Cards game.

Make sure to wear your garbage bags to remind us of the Metrodome outfield wall. :hissyfit:
There is a really cool restaurant down near the brewery called Syndey Street Cafe. Great food!!!
Hope you enjoy St. Louis.

Or just a replica of the 1987 series trophy would do , you know to remind you guys of the dome,
All kidding aside you will never hear a Twins fan on this site defending the dump they were forced to play in, and i was forced to grow up in...
Consider yourself blessed for having all 3 wonderfull stadiums to you guys had/have!
thank you for the tip on the Cafe!!!

Hey Maz,
Pretty much all the places people suggested for St. Louis are good. One other stop I would recommend is to stop by Gus' Pretzels before the game. It's just across 1-55 from the brewery on Arsenal. Get yourself a couple of Bratzels (which are brats wrapped in pretzel dough and then baked) or the same thing only a hotdog. Much cheaper than the sad versions that they have at the stadium.
Make sure to visit Rawlings Making the Game out in the centerfield concourse. That's where I work. Always a good time making bats and doing laser engravings. Have fun on your trip.
