Here's one. Appears to be Fenway. It must have been fun trying to watch the game from this seat.

There's just no excuse for a stadium, regardless of the fact that it cost $1.5 bil to erect, to have that level of obstruction. That's just embarrassing.

Exactly. I would just pay the $5 and drift to other areas of the stadium.

I don't know whether it's funny or pathetic, but notice how the $5 obstructed section is mostly full, while the field level is mostly empty.

Probably a little of both I would say. Despite the obstruction I have yet to see that part of the bleachers empty. Always full.

I don't know what's worst about that pic - the level of obstruction, or the lac of finish on the concrete wall. Really? $1.5 billion, and they can't finish off some of the concrete? That's bad...

My advice: study the NYS bleacher seating diagram hard, and book a section that is as far from that yuppie-haven box as is possible. :crazy

The rich need their play areas, y'know? :banghead::rofl::banghead:

This would have been a good seat for Larry "I have wide stance" Craig.

They aren't "beams," they are support columns. A beam refers to a horizontal piece of metal/wood/what have you. A support column is a vertical piece of metal/wood/what have you.

Thank you for that clarification/correction/what have you.

Don't forget railings like this one in front of the first row of the top deck at Dodger Stadium. If you lean back in your seat the railing basically obliterates the infield.

You basically have to sit on one ass cheek the entire game to see the action.

"Not a bad seat in the house", huh. Wait'll a year's worth of NY grime makes those plexis translucent instead of transparent.

Although I'm a Yankee fan, I'm going to be totally objective here. Yes, I think that there's no excuse for that obstruction, however, I'd much prefer that seat, where I have a clear view of the plate, most of the infield and 1/2 of the OF (ha), to sitting behind or near a Fenway support column, where the entire game is affected or Citi's staircase, which would drive me totally bonkers, with the plexiglass, bars and fans/vendors walking up and down, further blocking your view.

And though theres's no excuse for the CF restaurant design, those seats are in fact only $5 and for that you can roam around the entire stadium to watch the game, including the nearby CF plaza, for spectacular views. Heck, you can even watch the game from the concourse behind home plate or the dugout. If you ever go to NYS you will see that the bleachers are perhaps the best value in all of sports (especially the $12 unobstructed seats, where you can just stay put). You're right on top of the action and the players seem close by, unlike RYS and other parks where they seem distant. I checked out the bleachers for a few minutes and I was blown away by the view.

Still, it does kinda suck that the Yankees couldn't design a better less intrusive CF restaurant for $1.5 billion (greed at the expense of fans sucks in general), but they did try to rectify it and the end result isn't too bad, considering that it's too late to do anything, and not my biggest complaint regarding NYS.

One thing about Shea Stadium that really ground my gears was how the vertical bars in front of the upper boxes were placed directly in front of the second seat away from the aisle in the front row of each and every section, instead of in front of the aisle itself. I can't see any reason why they couldn't have arranged it so that the vertical bars were in front of the aisle and between the boxes themselves.

There's one HUGE difference. When you pay five bucks for a bleacher seat at YS, you know there are obstructions. That is why they are five dollars. That is part of the deal. And it is a great deal.
When you pay full price at CF and you are stuck behind that stairwell, the average fan has no clue about the obstruction because the price is not reduced and the tickets do not say limited view. It has become a case of buyer beware.
