Recently this came up on www.philliesphans.com and I can't find an answer to it. On 4-17-76 (http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/CHN/CHN197604170.shtml) the Phils beat the Cubs 18-16 and in hitting 4 HR in one game, Mike Schmidt homered off both Rick and Paul Reuschel. The question is: how many times has a player hit HRs off two brothers in one game in MLB?

I checked the Niekros and nobody did it against them.
I checked the Benes and found one such case.
July 23, 2000 against the Cardinals, Lance Berkman hit a 2nd inning HR of Andy Benes and then added a 7th inning shot of Alan Benes.
I believe the only other time it happened was by Rogers Hornsby, off Virgil and Jesse Barnes on 09/24/1922.

How many pairs of brothers have even been on the same pitching staff together? The only one I can think of is the Weavers with the '06 Angels. They both started every game they pitched that year, so they couldn't be an answer here.

Rick and Paul Reuschel (Cubs)
Phil and Joe Niekro (Braves)
Rick and Mickey Mahler (Braves)
Pedro and Ramon Martinez (Dodgers and Red Sox)
Dizzy and Daffy Dean (Cardinals)
Jesse and Virgil Barnes (NY Giants)
Andy and Alan Benes (Cardinals)
Jeff and Jered Weaver (Angels)
There are probably more.

Gaylord and Jim Perry both pitched for the '74 Indians. No relief appearances for either one, though.

Even though they weren't primarily pitchers, twins Eddie and Johnny O'Brien pitched a few games for the Pirates from 1956 to 1958.
Dave and Dennis Bennent on the 1964 Phillies.
