How about a thread sharing interior images of ballparks and stadiums around the league :)
Concourses, scoreboards, etc.... :hide:

For all the criticism that I, as a Mets fan, have given Citi Field, it has a damn nice interior, maybe one of the best in the MLB... but unfortunately I can't make definitive judgement since I haven't been to many ballparks. Only 6.

How can I not go with NYS, the frieze and how regal the interior looks?
Sorry, I love Citi's exterior (though I wish they used darker brick), but that interior is a mess; a clusterfug. Probably the only interior that is worse and more busy is Rangers Park in Arlington.
Obviously I like a cleaner interior with angles that aren't contrived but a necessity, so I'll have to go with:
1. NYS
2. Wrigley
3. Fenway
Of the new parks, probably AT&T and PNC (the view certainly helps here).

1. Wrigley. It is too beautiful for words. Absolute perfection.
2. PNC. They nailed the interior of this park.
3. NYS. Very regal, very imposing. The things keeping it from #1 or #2 are the amount of ads, and some of the lack of color in the OF (I think covering up the walls in the bullpens with blue padding would go a lot further than many would think, as would covering up the concrete walls on each side of the CF restaurant.)
4. Fenway. Like NYS, it's brought down by some of the ads, as well as some of the disjointedness brought about by the recent expansions. Still beautiful though.
5. Camden. The LF side is a bit bland, but that's about the only significant minus I can think of.

I think the only reason it may look like a mess is because when you went there was probably a million and one people wondering around and exploring the place. I agree the traffic was certainly a mess but I doubt it will be like that all year round. The actual look and feel of the concourses (minus the stampede of people) was very warm and comfortable IMO.

I think he was talking about the visual of the seating bowl, rather than the concourse.
I was at CF Friday and YS Saturday and both concourses were crowded with people checking the places out.
Speaking of CF - I really liked the RF concourse with the bridge.

Thank god the Twins are getting a new staduim. That concourse looks more crowded then my school when it is in between periods. Here is also a pic of the interior of the Metrodome.

Not to mention they won't be playing underneath a large swastika any longer.

You can't see it in that angle but in others you can clearly see the airbag creases look like a swastika. I've always wondered why it never became a bigger thing and it was never fixed in such a way so that it did not seem to form one.
I think the criteria for this thread should be you must have had to be in the park you comment on. You can tell someone has a real insecure agenda against a park when they blast its interior without ever stepping a foot in it.

I don't know about that... what you say may apply to some people but others might not have the emotional attachment (pro or con) to a given ballpark and may be able to see things with a more objective eye.

I will judge base ball ballparks in 2009 starting with Dodger Stadium (90012) on Monday where the Los Angeles (NL) Dodgers will face the San Francisco (MLB) Giants. :hide:

PNC, Camden Yards, Fenway Park, and AT&T Park have the best backdrops. New Yankee Stadium and Citizens Bank Park have awesome concourses.

I think all Twins fans agree that the Metrodome is a horrible place to watch your average April - August baseball game. It's just plain bad.
So in no way am I making a case for the Metrodome's aesthetic qualitity, but...if you have ever been to the Dome for a playoff game (especially one that ends in a walk-off home run by, say, Kirby Puckett!) the atmosphere inside the Dome has no parallel. Literally. It is so unbelievably loud in there!! Add in the frenzied waving of Homer Hankys and you might (MIGHT) even say that the interior of the Metrodome is a thing of beauty on those October nights under the Teflon Sky :)
Absolutely hideous building (inside and out). But absolutely phenomenal playoff atmosphere; IMHO a truly one-of-a-kind sports experience to see playoff baseball played in a place that loud!
