The answer to number two, I believe, is Randy Johnson. Although IIRC, Johnson said he merely learned a new slider grip from Stottlemyre, not the pitch altogether.
The answer to number seven, which is courtesy of Dad, a huge fan of the 1950's New York Giants, is actually four answers. He says that he's heard the "Little Miracle of Coogan's Bluff" as any one of the following (in the order he estimated the usage of them)...
1. The 1954 pennant drive.
2. The 1954 World Series.
3. Game 4 of the 1954 World Series.
4. When the Giants beat the Dodgers once more to clinch the 1954 NL Pennant (Dad was unsure of the exact date, but said anywhere from September 18-22 sounded right).

In looking at (25) about three 300/300 guys were on the field when a 300/300 occurred I have to conclude that the phrase "300/300" doesn't mean just 300 HR 300 stolen base guys or that the phrase "on the field" doesn't limit this to just players in the game involved.
I say this because at no time in history have we ever had four active players with 300 HRs and 300 SB's.

kcghost: I have to conclude that the phrase "300/300" doesn't mean just 300 HR 300 stolen base guys or that the phrase "on the field" doesn't limit this to just players in the game involved.
"300/300" does indeed mean "300 home runs and 300 steals."
kcghost: I say this because at no time in history have we ever had four active players with 300 HRs and 300 SB's.
focus on three, man; at the time that a 300/300 was achieved their were 3 members of the very exclusive 300/300 club on that field.
