Boone is done for the year possibly for his career as he elects to have heart surgery. Does this mean Cris Johnson makes the team?
I am all for a youth infusion. This is the time. It's obviously not going to happen at the catcher spot this year so why not platoon Johnson with Blum?

Will it hinder Johnson's progress? Well then name him the starter IMO. Blum is not an averday player on a good team. We will get plenty of use for him backing up the other infield positions

For some reason I kind of smell a trade. Not sure from where but I think it is a decent possibility. Blum is a great depth player and probably good for the platoon but they will need another guy to balance third base. Johnson is the obvious candidate but it remains to be seen as to what will change.
