Forgive me if this isn't the right place to post this, but I've enjoyed seeing everybody's projects including several great stadium models. Thought I'd share my Yankee bar with everyone. I'm thinking of moving in the near future so I'm open to any suggestions for improvement or new ideas for my next project. The only think I know for sure is it will include a new facade / frieze which I have already had made since I can't take this one with me. It's built in, and staying if /when I eventually leave.

dude, you have that in your house? the only way I could have a bigger hard on for that thing right now is if it were a DODGERS bar

you cant possibly move unless you take that entire set up with you. out-*******-standing!

Good job !

How about finding a place to hang the retired numbers or small banners for the championships?

Great job indeed! Good song came to mind while browsing this thread, have no idea why?

No, I'm not colorblind
I know the world is black and white
Try to keep an open mind
But I just can't sleep on this tonight

Stop this train
I wanna get off
And go home again
I can't take the speed it's moving in
I know I can't
But honestly, won't someone stop this train?

Don't know how else to say it
Don't want to see my parents go
One generation's length away
From fighting life out on my own

Stop this train
I wanna get off
And go home again
I can't take the speed it's moving in
I know I can't
But honestly, won't someone stop this train?

So scared of getting older
I'm only good at being young
So I play the numbers game
To find a way to say that life has just begun

Had a talk with my old man
Said "help me understand"
He said "turn sixty-eight
You renegotiate"

"Don't stop this train
Don't for a minute change the place you're in
And don't think I couldn't ever understand
I tried my hand
John, honestly we'll never stop this train"

Once in awhile, when it's good
It'll feel like it should
And they're all still around
And you're still safe and sound
And you don't miss a thing
Till you cry when you're driving away in the dark
Singing

Stop this train
I wanna get off
And go home again
I can't take the speed it's moving in
I know I can
Cause now I see I'll never stop this train

You should put up a big concrete wall right next to the stairs so it will give you the authentic NYS bleacher experience.

Thanks guys. Regarding the making of the frieze - sorry for the duplicate posting, but I put this info in another thread, but will copy here for those asking....
My absolute favorite part of it is the Yankee facade which I worked with a friend who is a custom woodworker to have fabricated. Not cheap, but well worth it IMO. Started out as simple cut-out piece that gave the look and feel of the facade, but as his CAD work based on my drawings kept coming back so good, I kept asking him to tweak and add details. By the time we were done, I would say we came pretty darn close to the real thing. There was so much detail that we had to go to mdf as even the best of woods would have splintered under all the routing work, but once painted it really looks great. Anyway, I am thinking of moving and the way I built the bar and facade, it has to stay with the house. Since losing it was the thing bothering me the most I went ahead and had a new set made so that I am ready to build a new one at the new house. Long story even longer I had some made for my friend and while delivering them to him we stumbled on the conversation of the original being copper and being green prior to '67. While I completely expect to paint it white again, this new info has me seriously considering an additional small section in another area of the house to paint the patina color of the original. I think it could look really cool.

Good idea fudbutter. I only put Reggie into the bar top as he was my favorite - and I do have this in my home office (short a couple numbers) :ooo:

I hate the f'ing Yankees but that setup is outstanding.

When you build your new bar please start a "New Yankees Bar Construction" thread so people will have something to talk about after NYS is finished.

Where do you live? I'll buy your house based solely on that bar. Even in this market.

Pretty awesome. Nobody has mentioned it yet but that is also quite a liquor collection as well.

I think I spot some R33/R36, R32, and maybe an R10 in that picture. Nice collection regardless, even if I can't make out the car types from here.

I would love to do the same thing, but Mets themed, but what you have is awesome.

The bar is not even the best part of the house! ;)

Thanks for all the compliments guys. I've had a few people ask me about having the facade/frieze made for them. It's not cheap, but if anyone is interested, shoot me an e-mail at cshaffer18@yahoo.com and I'll pass along the details.
