Which team has had the most HoF players (as in at some point they got inducted into the Hall because of their playing days) as their manager?

Secondly which of the original 16 have had the least amount of HoF players as managers?

Finally name all of the current teams that have yet to have a HoF player manage their team.

As a technical note we will not coaches who became the manager because the manager got ejected.

Off the top of my head, I can think of six who managed the Indians:

Nap Lajoie
Tris Speaker
Walter Johnson
Lou Boudreau
Joe Gordon
Frank Robinson

Also Al Lopez, but he is probably in the HOF for managing.

In the 20th century the Boston Braves had two: Dave Bancroft and Rogers Hornsby. That may be the least.

EDIT: Now that I think of it, the least was the Philadelphia Athletics with zero.

The Cubs have had:

Al Spalding
Cap Anson
Frank Chance
Johnny Evers
Roger Bresnahan
Joe Tinker
Rabbit Maranville
Rogers Hornsby
Gabby Hartnett
Frankie Frisch
Lou Boudreau

Spalding may be considered a pioneer, though.

They have also been managed by HoF managers Frank Selee, Joe McCarthy, and Leo Durocher. And Lou Piniella may join that list some day.

The correct answer for most is indeed the Cubs with 10 (Spalding didn't go in as a player).

All that remains is the least amount and the teams with no HoF players.

The Philadelphia/Kansas City/Oakland A's have three in Luke Appling, Lou Boudreau and Joe Gordon

I can only find one for the Phillies, Hugh Duffy who managed them from 1904 to 1906. I couldn't find any teams with zero.

Philadelphia Philles are indeed the lowest team on the original 16 totem pole with onle 1 HoF player as manager.

Here is the list based on franchise, the Giants move up to 9 by combining San Fran and NY.

San Francisco Giants 9
Chicago White Sox 8
Cincinnati Reds 8
St. Louis Cardinals 7
Boston Red Sox 7
Baltimore Orioles 6
Cleveland Indians 5
Pittsburgh Pirates 5
Atlanta Braves 5
New York Yankees 4
Detroit Tigers 3
Los Angeles Dodgers 3
Minnesota Twins 2
Oakland Athletics 3
Texas Rangers 2
Washington Nationals 2
Buffalo Bisons 2
Chicago Whales 1
Brooklyn Ward's Wonders 1
Boston Reds 1
