I have been having tons of trouble with my swing lately. I know you guys have a lot of experinece with hitting and I thought you guys could help me.
I pretty much "lost" my swing. I really have no direction right now on what is good and what isn't. I have been studying tons of clips of MLB hitters and I also have been looking at Hiddengem's.
It looks like Hiddengem you are one-legged hitting. I have heard this term before, but I don't have full grasp on it. I think it means that you push with the back leg, but I'm not positive. So, my question is should I be pushing with my back leg on order for an early rotation of the hips?
Also, I noticed a lot of hitters scap load with their back shoulder. I noticed Dustin Pedroia, Carlos Beltran, Adam Dunn, etc. It likes as though HG does it to from what I can see from the side view. My question is: Is that how I should be loading the hands in order to activate the core into the swing?
Finally, what MLB players do you guys recommend that I should study their swings? I am a freshman in high school and throughout the tryouts I've been practicing with the varsity, but my weak point is, indeed, hitting. I have been working hard on it, but I think I am practicing bad habits and I'm not using "my" own swing.
One last thing, does anyone have pictures or .gifs of great MLB hitters and what they do right, or wrong.
Thank you guys. I hope to hear from you soon.

Edit: Also when I was on the hittingillustrated website, they talked a lot about "grabbing the pole" and they compared this type of swing to Barry Bonds. Do you guys support this "theory"? It does seem like it would help keep you back and activate the core.

Grabbing the pole is a very good thing.

Grabbing the pole is a good cue, if you truly understand it.
I would suggest that you try it. I mean literally walk up to a pole grab it, get in your stance and try it, over and over until you can feel it. Now take that feeling to the bat. Try to duplicate the feeling of the bat being the pole. It may help you "feel" quicker.

Have you tried it? Actually given it a full effort?

Words can be misleading.
"One-legged hitting" is a lousy term, IMO. But, the concept behind it, is not necessarily wrong.
If you draw a line from your nose to your groin, dividing your body in half. The goal is to create total torso rotation, by driving from the back half. Like pushing on one side of a revolving door. You don't spin on the back foot, or stay over the back foot, you do shift, but you don't have to TRY to shift. You drive hard to turn and shift. Your front foot touches down to stabilize the shifting motion and keep the head centered, but the force is coming from the back. The front leg finishes the rotation by bracing and straightening. You use BOTH legs, it's just that the force to turn and shift comes from the back. You are already turning as you land on the front leg, you don't wait to get on it before you start to rotate.
Now, split your body in half at the belt. Now, using the concept stated above, you drive the lower half first and let the hips turn the shoulders, and you bring the bat around as your front foot touches down.

Thanks for your input.
So what your saying is there must be an axis that I should be rotating around? Okay, I'm pretty sure I understand that part of the swing.
But, for the upper body, how do you prefer that I load? And where do you like the hands to be in order for the most or most effective swing. I hear a lot about this aspect of the swing being a personal preference, but I would really like some guidence. Should there be a scap load or reverse rotation, etc.?
