Agreed. He never did much after that 94 ROY season.

F Thomas wouldve won the 91 ROY had he not had too many AB's in 90. he got called on up in August of 90.

Hamelin had one more "decent" season with the Tigers later on. One thing I can claim is that I have seen in person both Bob Hamelin and Cecil Fielder steal a base. Not many people can say that. In both cases they were not being held.

Pat Listach.

Bob Hamelin deserved his Rookie of the Year award and had two more productive, albeit injury-plagued seasons. Ben Grieve deserved his award, as well, and had a solid five-year run to begin his career.

Pat Listach, on the other hand, did not deserve his award - Lofton beat him in OBP, SLG, OPS, OPS+, SB, SB%, and was a better CF'er than Listach was a SS. Dave Fleming also had a better case, methinks. Listach never had a good season, either.

Hamelin is barely recognizable to young fans. It's a tossup between him and Listach.

I agree, I chose Listach, but it is pretty much a dead heat to me.

I started following baseball around the year 2000 and had never heard of either of them before this poll, which is why I voted for both.

You have a better excuse than I do. I started following baseball in 1988-1989 (at six or seven years old) and I don't recognize that name, Hamelin... So, he got my vote.

Hamelin's .246 career avg. is pretty sorry. Pat Listach had twice as many career hits as Hamelin, too.
