Hey all. I am in the process of compiling a short list of the so called "best drills" used for our favorite sport baseball. I have read old threads etc, and decided I would write a post where you could list your favorite. If you were starting a team today and had only 1 drill you could teach them what would it be. It can be fun, serious, or maybe even a speech. Mine, I have always enjoyed teaching over the shoulder catch via the outfield. I love watching outfielders playing the sport. I also still enjoy working on relay drills. Nothing more exciting than seeing a perfectly executed relay lead to an out. Please list you one truly greatest drill you have had sucess with.

i cant live without infield practice
you no the one, where there is a ground ball to the 3rd baseman, he throw to first, then SS does the same thing, and so on, then you do double plays and the like
that's probably my most favorite drill

Only one?
This is for minor league LL.
One of my favorite for loosening up and pregame practice has the Coach at home hitting grounders to kids lined up on the grass for 2B or can be done with players at any infield positon really. Another Coach is on first. The first player steps into position and is hit a grounder, they field it and throw to the coach at 1st. The player runs out to RF and the 1st base coach throws them a pop fly that they need to catch on the run. The player catches the fly ball and puts the ball in a collection bucket at the back of the player line. You can switch this so the coach is at 3rd and then the players run out to LF and catch the pop fly going to the opposite side.
This is a rapid fire drill with players catching the ground ball as the coach throws the pop fly to the previous one. Players seem to really enjoy it, gives them grounder and fly ball practice and it's quick paced.

I think my favorite drill as a pitcher is 9 man bunt. Fielding bunts, even during PFP's isn't something that's always covered @ the high school levelor even the college level, and learning to field the ball and get your hips and shoulders pointed in the proper direction to make a throw. This drill forces you to field and throw to all three bases, and you can get tons of reps and even some conditioning while you do it.
