Hey guys, I was just wondering what the best way to clean baseball cleats was?I've come up with my own cleat cleaning system. I call it BS(w):Brush, soap and water.
To Perform:
Add soap to the brush, dip in the water, take a firm grip and move your shoulders back and forth at break neck speed...

I found using your hands/forearms in a back and forth motion to be better.;)

Correct. The hands do very little and are just along for the ride.

Correct. The hands do very little and are just along for the ride. This is one baseball endeavor about which I believe all camps can come together -- the one-plane cleaning stroke just doesn't cut it.
I assume we're talking about metal cleats? The bottom of most shoes is plasicized enought that they'll survive a blast from the jet of a trigger spray attachment to a hose. Then get a big horse brush. (Note, thereafter do not use the brush on your horse.)
Better yet, pick up your kid from practice directly after work. Make sure you're wearing your best dress shirt. Upon arriving home, clap the shoes together in the front yard before changing your shirt. Watch the mud fly and ruin your shirt. Swear.
I hate February baseball, because the fancy new "clay" that towns and schools put on their big field absorb water to a point, and then turn into a fine aqueous adobe that, when dried, creates a layer of strata whose hardness would make the old Pueblo Indians pale with admiration.

Don't forget to load the scaps:)

Agreed, very important point.....allows for full coverage of newly aquired dress shirt.
Actually, my shirts are clean. They clean their own or play with 5lbs of dirt on their feet.

Can anyone provide me with some drills to help improve my cleaning skills?

Sorry but all of you have it wrong, give your shoes to the team equipment manager to clean and check over.
If your team does not have this extra, talk to your coach about this and ask him if he can do it for you or give it to your mom or dad to do.
I am sure you will get good advice if you go the above route, if you don't have a team equipment manager to take care of your equipment.
respectfully yours,
