Closers - They certainly play an important role in winning games.
Is Rivera still the best closer in baseball?

My first choice would easily be Nathan. Next i would go with Paps but its closer.

Joakim Soria is one of the best kept secrets in baseball.
Papelbon, then Soria, then Mariano, then everyone else. If Mariano was younger he'd be "better" than Soria but Soria's on the upside of his career and Mariano is closing in on its end.
I understand votes for K-Rod and Lidge, and at least Nathan is respectably solid, but LOL @ the homer who voted for Valverde. He's a solid, effective power reliever but he's average among closers. 47 saves doesn't change that. (especially with 7 blown saves for a rather pedestrian 87% save rate -- right above the level where a closer becomes a detriment to his team)

i saw some teams had multiple which led me to vote for the Mets. Although K-Rod is not the best individual, I think the combination of him and Putz (who is obviously the set-up man now) could be amazing.

If you're going to do multiple closers on the same team, where's Takashi Saito on the Red Sox? Even if Papelbon is very much the established Red Sox closer, Saito IS a closer and if healthy is a very good one.

oh crap, I forgot he went there...that may change my vote...either way Mets and Sox look good.

I'll go with Mariano until he shows me he isn't the best. Then my home boy, Joakim Soria.
