The Diamondbacks claimed right-hander Bobby Korecky, 29, off waivers from the Minnesota Twins and, to clear room on the 40-man roster, designated reliever Jailen Peguero for assignment.
Last season, Korecky had a 4.58 ERA in 17 2/3 innings in the majors and a 2.91 ERA in 74 1/3 innings in Triple-A Rochester. He has a 3.09 ERA in 425 2/3 innings in his minor-league career.
"There's murkiness related to two or three spots in our bullpen," Diamondbacks General Manager Josh Byrnes said. "He's certainly a competitor for those spots."
The Diamondbacks have 10 days to trade Peguero, release him or put him on waivers.
