i think he doesnt step enough to to the ball, but who am i to tell him not to, it clearly works for him

well all i was saying is that he hit the cover off the ball
but that is only 1 swing
you cant judge someone off 1 swing

Swinging hard is easy. a swing with adjustments is a whole other story and where magic gets involved. IMO the instructor has a college level swing.

What do you think of this guys swing?
Looks quick and powerful. If I could swing half as quick and powerful as that, I would be happy! :D

Due to the limitations of the clip and YouTube, I couldn't break down either swing into components. But here's a shot of the POC on the second swing, which shows a relatively classic bat, arm and upper body position:

Obviously he crushed the ball even with less the optimal lower body form. I think the result is a testament to the fact that taking a good path to the ball with a powerful and athletically gifted and coordinated "snap" of the body (and probably wrists and hands here too) can overcome some "flaws" in generating power. Whether he can adjust to live pitching is another story, but I'll bet he hits some pretty impressive pop-ups too.
