Will there be radio baseball? Did they sell the ad space more than six months ago?

There will be, but who knows for how long. There are rumors that DirecTV might take over satellite radio when Sirius/XM fails. There technology is good and is here to stay, unfortunately, the company has made some poor business decisions and just run into some overall bad luck, so they will more than likely go under.

Man I hope so. I really enjoy flipping on my xm after work ,and listening to the west coast games (get off at 11:30p.m. est).

Someone will have it, whomever owns it. Who knows? GM is buying back into Delphi, XM's distributor, so they may be part of the big you-know-what.
Frankly, I liked things better before the merger.

XM is still seperate from Sirius in Canada and appears to be doing well so hopefully I don't have to worry about it for a while. Not a Dodger fan but I do enjoy turning it on and listening to Scully before I head to bed :).

I absolutely love baseball on satellite radio, with games broadcast every night. There are some quibbles, but the overall experience is better than televised games. Radio broadcasts are far superior to televised games, because I so often have used the TV as a radio anyway. TV game analysts are not what they think they are, and TV broadcasts are replaceable.
The problem is the credit market. Corporate mergers will remain difficult for awhile because of the situation. From what I have gathered, the pendulum has swung from extreme carelessness to extreme caution over corporate mergers. Whoever buys into satellite radio might do so for the sake of baseball, regardless of whether the deal is profitable. The buyer would have to have very deep pockets.

I read today where Mel Karmazin got an investor to insure 9 more months
I wouldn't sign up for a long term deal though

In order to continue listening online, they're requiring you to pay for at least a full year at a time.

Yeah, I realize that but I wouldn't go for more then a year is what I meant,
too unstable
I guess if it's too good to be true, like being able to get any game in crystal clear reception, caveat emptor
