What's the low down on Ricketts? I take it this will be a good move for the organization???

Is the payroll going to be a lot higher now...anything like the Yankees or close to it?

This is great news for the organization, Ricketts is a lifelong Cubs fan who would actually love to see the Cubs win it all and will probably be willing to sacrifice a little bit more than the other two potential owners in the mix. I'm really excited for this, because now I feel like I'll get to see some good moves made as soon as everything in complete.

No, we won't spend like the Yankees spend, because the Yankees have ridicules kind of money coming in via their new stadium and their owners are free-spenders. However, i expect him to consistently put money into the team but more importantly he will demand winning. I don't think Mr. Ricketts will allow this team to lose for a 100 years. He has passion for the team, loves the Cubs like a fan and wants to win a championship like any other Cubs fan in the world. He is, however, a business man first, that's why he won't be throwing out money like crazy, like the Yankees. He will demand the team remains consistent for years and when the team wants to add a final piece to it's puzzle, i don't think he will shy away from it.... like a Jake Peavy. If this deal is signed, sealed and voted on in a timely manner, i would think Ricketts allows Jim Hendry to make a deal for Peavy and add his contract to the payroll.

Exactly, they're not going out there to spend huge money on the team, but like just said, they'll make that extra move to put the team at the next level now, which you cannot underestimate the value of.
