Do you guys the consider the 1911 A's with there $100,000 infield the greatest infield ever and do you also consider the 1942 Cardinals with Terry Moore at Center and Enos Slaughter and Stan Musial at the corner outfield positions the greatest outfield ever?

If not who do you consider the greatest infield ever and the greatest outfield ever?

Amazingly, the greatest infield and outfield may have met in the 1975 World Series.

Reds IF:

1B Perez
2B Morgan
3B Rose
SS Concepcion

Red Sox OF:

LF Rice
CF Lynn
RF Evans

That's pretty amazing.

It's kinda hard to beat the old Philly outfield of Hamilton, Delahanty, and Thompson (with Turner as backup).

Babe Ruth and two stiffs has argument for the greatest outfield ever. The 1927 Yankees outfield (Ruth/Meusel/Combs) has a better argument. It has two Hall of Famers (though one shouldn't be) and another very good player putting up very good to excellent years.

The Tigers' Cobb/Crawford/someone outfields would be in the discussion too, say the 1908 (with Matty McIntyre) one for kicks. Granted, this lives on the strength of Cobb and Crawford more than anything else.

The 1990 Pirates had Bonds, Van Slyke and Bonilla. Of course, not the Bonds we came to know later, but still an absurdly productive version.

Great OF's:

1902 Pirates - Beaumont/Clarke/Wagner
1941 Yankees - DiMaggio/Keller/Henrich
1966-1969 Pirates - Clemente/Stargell/M. Alou (in all 4 years all of them had an OPS+ over 120)

The 1961 Yanks OF of Mantle, Maris, and Berra wasn't bad.

The 1971 Orioles of Robinson, Belanger, Johnson, and Powell was mighty fine. Particularly when you factor in their defense.
