or some other definition? not sure, trying to figure out how those hands snap through to make the bat flip like that at contact. thanks in advance...

Great screen name. A allusion to the song?
The movement of the bat head you see is commonly called whip using a term coined by Nyman years back. Some believe there is some element of Mankin's bottom hand torque here. I believe all or the great majority of what you see is flail into whip. Are you familiar with a flail mower, or better yet, a weed eater? As the drum holding the flails or the weed eater string begins to turn, the weed eater string quickly swings out away from the drum. If the drum then quickly quit turning like the shoulders must, you would see something like you see here in this clip. Thanks for the clip by the way.

This is a great visual of what hitters may be thinking about: keeping the hands up and starting down to swing. And if you watch the barrel you see the path it takes is not down, down, down - but down and around and up.:applaud:
