For your own good I need to stress the importance of "building the athlete first".
In fact, I'd go as far as to say you would be wasting your time (and my time if I was your instructor) if you weren't also working on your athleticism in parallel.
One's overall athleticism does impact their hitting performance and one's running speed will directly impact one's batting statistics.

Great ..... I worked with a kid last winter that was very challenged athletically ... they would hit line drives to RF and still be thrown out at 1B. For the benefit of the team I had to bench the kid mid-way through the season.
With that 'warning' out of the way ..... go ahead and post a clip of your swing. There are plenty of folks here willing to share quality information at no cost.

If you can perform them right, power cleans can really help you. I did them for the first time in college and they gave me more pop than any other weight training system i had done before.

The are a form of olympic lifts that make your entire body work together. I will see if i can find a video. We did them an abbreviated way that helped take some of the pressure off our backs

This is the way we did them, i have seen a bunch of coaches make their players start at the floor but that is more technical and dangerous than this one..

With the right training you could be a 5'9", 180 pound bull. As for stealing bases, that's only relevant to the level of competition. It takes time to get in shape when you're out of shape. Stick to a plan but don't look in the mirror every day. Wait about a month to look at the difference.

More technical from the floor? Absolutely. More dangerous? No. More beneficial from the floor? Yes.
Conky, please seek proper instruction in-person from someone knowledgeable on lifting techniques.

well im getting a punching bag tomorrow, a good one, so i will be going to a Muay Thai school so i can get in better shape through competitive kickboxing
but i also plan to do what lance berkman did but better
instead of hitting a tire with a bat 100 times a day, ill hit a heavy bag 150 times a day to strengthen my fore arms because i heard that is a good idea :D
that's what ive told is a really good idea that not man people know about, swinging at a punching bag

I saw something like that not to long ago. I was like a total weight gym, only for baseball. It had a punching bag, tee, and something else all built into one big machine

Why not do both? I promise you that hitting a tire with a sledgehammer has helped me immensely. Mixing up your routines from time to time has a lot of value as long as you stick to a general goal.

well unfortunately, getting my hands on both a sledgehammer and a large tire would be difficult

A sledgehammer is $20 at Sears and a large tire is $5 from the junkyard. The back yard is free.
Took me about an hour.

How did you set your tire up. My first high school coach had his set up where you hit the side of it and followed through, the next one had it set up where you hit the treads and just tried to hold it there.

Just do alot of cardio first to lose all that fat, i would start 5 days a week 20 minutes and every week add 10 minutes, after you've reached 60 minutes do it 6 days a week later 7 days.
Great for your stamina, but its hard to go on with cardio which gets really old after a week. Don't eat less then you need, just search for some schedule on a bodybuilding forum;)

I lay it on the ground and wail the heck out of it. Be sure to hit it evenly!
