no one hits 600, not even mcgwire or bonds. the best major league shots are around 500. This is obviously fake.
I still like the swing of the kid though. Looks good.

Sonny great swing, the distance is suspect. Here's some info: http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_are_the_official_longest_home_runs_in_MLB
I saw the spot Mantle supposedly hit at Yankee Stadium. It is huge.

Not bad. I'd like to see a little more athletic position, a better pelvic load unload and I think I see a little push late in the swing but pretty darn good momentum management.
Jake,
The Wiki page is highly suspect as well. This has been gone over in some of the other portions of baseball-fever as you might imagine. For example, the Wiki page quotes that the famous home run of McGwire off Randy Johnson in the Kingdome was 538 ft conservatively. Well, if you check out the real measurement at
http://www.slate.com/id/2095/
you'll find out it was actually more like 474 ft. Similarly, the famous Mantle 565 foot shot at Washington's Griffith Stadium has similarly downgraded to 506 feet according to Robert Adair in the Physics of Baseball.
It appears shots significantly above 500 feet are fiction, with 500 feet pretty much the accepted limit, much like a 100 mph fastball. 600 ft claims are fairy tales, great stories but nothing more than that.

I would tend to agree.

On further review, the camera angle may be fooling me as far as athletic position and I take back the comment about the push. Good swing. Tell us more about this kid.

I believe that this is 625'... If you slow down the video, you can clearly read Titleist Pro V1 x on the ball.

625 feet? I call BS
625 was a miss print: it's suppose to be 525.
The landing was measured using basic distance judging on a map..legends.
The pitch was a 95 MPH Fast-Ball.

A kid hitting in cut off sleeves and without a helmet is hardly going to hang around kids throwing 95 mph.
Sweet shirt to play baseball in...haha
Parents out there..... make sure your kid never , i repeat... NEVER.... goes to a showcase, tryout, showing his guns..... or without baseball pants. lol
