San Diego, CA (Sports Network) - The San Diego Padres have agreed to terms on a one-year contract with outfielder Jody Gerut, the club announced Friday.
The terms were not disclosed.
Gerut hit .296 with 14 home runs and 43 runs batted in through 100 games last season for the Padres. The 31-year-old owns a lifetime .271 average with 48 homers and 183 RBI in 420 career games with Cleveland, the Chicago Cubs, Pittsburgh Pirates and Padres.
