That is the big five plus three worth weak support. Cone, Dawson, and Murphy are closer to some of the outs than they are to the five. Lee Smith, for example. Eight is where I draw the line tonight.

The only two who should get in are Rickey Henderson and Bert Blyleven, and IMO the only one who will is Rickey.

Jim Rice may have a shot as well, but I am not a supporter of the 'last chance' philosophy of selection. Why would someone change their mind just because the candidate's window of candidacy expires? That would be like admitting that your vote was wrong in prior years.
