I am a co-chair for a national fund-raiser to benefit the V Foundation for cancer research. I am helping to collect the 2008 Upper Deck Yankee Stadium Legacy set. This is a 6600+ card set with one card for every game ever played at Yankee Stadium. After we complete the set, we will auction it off and donate the profits to The V Foundation for Cancer research. www.jimmyv.org

Here is the info about the set form Upper Deck. http://sports.upperdeck.com/baseball/yankeestadium/

We are asking for people to donate the cards that they pull. We hope to be able to eventually trade the duplicate cards we receive for cards we need, however, we are unable to purchase single cards from anyone. Again this set will be auctioned off for charity. This is a huge set and we need your help! Please consider donating your Yankee Stadium Legacy cards to our fund raiser and help "Fight cancer one card at a time!" For more information please contact me at taliasen@charter.net

Please send card donations to:

6320 W Dewey Rd.

Thanks,
Tim Danielson

It's not a scam, they've been working on the set all year in tandem with TheBenchTrading board. There have been articles about it in a couple of magazines and major sports card websites. I have to say I'm surprised that they weren't the first to complete the set!

I really hope that you are not an example of this country's future. We are in a lot of trouble if everyone has the sense of human compassion and philanthropy that you have.

Would you me to scan the MRI results of my father's Glioblastoma Multiforme (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glioblastoma_multiforme)? (terminal brain cancer)

Would you like to contact John Lashney (JLeshney@jimmyv.org), a Vice President for the Jimmy V Foundation for Cancer Research about the V Foundation endorsing us and helping us contact Sothby's auction house and the Steinbrenner family about the set?

Would you like to contact Chris Carlin (Chris_Carlin@upperdeck.com), the Baseball Brand Manager at Upper Deck who is officially sponsoring us not only with cards but advertising and marketing and PR as well?

"Or maybe you would just like to apologize now? :evil"

Taliasen, your effort seems to be a very noble one and I wish you the absolute best of luck with it. But you've got to calm down a bit. We've gotten phonies before and people that have outright stolen our cards. While I went on here and read every word of your post (i.e. the PS that would have lasted under five minutes if it wasn't legit), like I said, we've gotten shysters before and some people will be inclined to be skittish. Lashing out at them is not right. Explaining your motivations and intentions further *is* the right thing to do. Failing that, PM a moderator like AutographCollector. They will handle stuff like this for you.
