Do you know why the Pro League in Nicaragua is not playing this year? Will they be taking only one year off?
i think it had something to do with money or the government
they told me a friend theres more teams in league
i think he might be wrong
he says there playing now
and its a pro league
i think its probly not the main league.
i think they might be back better and stronger i pray in 2009

The Nicaraguan Pro League shut down this year, 2008-2009, after four uneven seasons.
They imported too many Indy players and washed up Dominicans, although we also so a couple of prospects like Roger Bernardina and Damaso Espino, plus a couple of bashers in Cubans Michel Abreu and Barbaro Caņizares. But 90 per cent of the better players were Nicaraguan, even though Vicente Padilla and Devern Hansack did not participate.
Because of the absence of the Winter League, the government pshed for an Open League with as many teams as possible, so 14 clubs are participating. It started on January 31, and the pros are winding up their participation to report to training camps; the best of the lot is Ofilio Castro (IF, Nationals).
There are four "nicas" in Spring Training, plus two in the Classic: Panama's 1B coach Luis Molina (Seattle scout born in Managua) and the official singer of the event, Luis Enrique Mejia...
is these league pro ?
