Not over yet, but it doesn't look like Boston has enough fight back tonight so I'll be a bit hypocritical and beat the rush.

Congrats to the Rays. Not, perhaps, to some of their hyper-whiney-little-kid bandwagon fans who don't know how to handle the novelty of rooting for a good team, and certainly not to their media, but the Rays themselves, the 25 guys on the field and their manager, are undeniably one heck of a baseball team.

I hope if the score holds up the Rays go all the way -- it would be a heck of a story and would show all the small-market whiners what can be done if their GM's stopped moaning about money and started actually executing their jobs, which is compensation enough for the humiliation my team had to go through to get it to this point since a shows lot of whiny Orioles, Jays, Royals, and other fans who like to scream small market oppression they need to shut up about Boston's advantages now and take a looooong look at what your GM pulled off here, which realistically any GM could do and most of them far more easily thanks to Tampa's tiny season ticket base.

I've been saying 1967 Sox all year when I look at this team, and here they are, just like I thought they'd be, and with no parallel to the franchise-altering injury to Tony C to gum the works up. Barring the inevitable equalizing luck, this franchise has some bright years ahead of it

All I can say is Philly better play like their lives depended on it.

Wow. Shows me for counting them out, even down by 7 in late innings of an elimination game.

My congrats to The Rays for their great season. I know it took 10 years of being in the organization to finally prove to everyone they are a contending team. I would like to see them go to the World Series because they have never been there before. Maybe now they will finally get the respect they have longed for. I do like the Red Sox and did cheer them on last year but it is nice to see "new blood" get in the Series. Amazing game last night. I thought for sure The Rays would become the American League Champs last night. I think the Red Sox now know The Rays mean business. Good luck to The Rays and keep up the great playing. I will be cheering for them all the way.

I was CRUSHED that they lost this game. Not only did I stay up to 12:15AM watching them suffer a historic once-in-a-century come from behind defeat, I was too pissed to fall asleep once the game was over. It must have been close to 1:30AM before I fell into a fitful sleep, and then the alarm clock for work went off at 5:30...:(

That was as close to being in the bag as any game I've watched all year. For 2 days, I was worried that it would be the decision to start Kazmir that would doom us in Game 5. Not only did he throw 6 shutout innings, the team backed him up with 7 runs. With the way our bullpen has been all year, they should have been popping champagne corks by 11:30. But the rest is history.

With arguably our two best pitchers ready, and a sold out Tropicana Field, I still like our chances. The team learned a hard and valuable lesson about the hearts of champions. It is up to them to stick the final dagger in that heart if they want their season to continue.
