Who does? I was wanting to do this as an offseason project? Who have you had success with? Thanks!

Sometimes I will ask questions with my requests. Here is all the people that have replied to my questions:
Bobby Witt
Larry Dierker
George Kell
Phil Niekro
Luis Tiant
David Nied
Andy Benes
Tim Wallach
Vance Law
Mike Bielecki
Gene Garber
Zane Smith
I haven't been keeping track of who I've asked questions to, but I think most of them have answered back. Good Luck with your project.

I've been doing phone interviews with alot of players from the 50's for a book I am writing and it's been 50 / 50 about their opinions of mail questionnaires. Quite a few say that the questions are too generic and repetitive, and that with a little research the person asking the questions can find out the info. Charlie Maxwell was pretty adamant about that point, saying that questions about who his first at-bat or hit was against could easily be found by doing some research and that every pitcher in the Majors leagues was "hard".
Others are glad to share their experiences and feel a need to share the information to push the history of the game along.
I would say if you are going to go about it, be more specific than generic and try to connect your questionnaires somehow.

A lot of minor league players tend to be more willing to do it. Maybe because they don't get as many requests or just have more time.

Thanks for the help! I think I may try a couple that are on here and I am going to try Tommy Lasorda. Thanks!

I've been sending questions to players for over a year now and have gotten back over 50 responses. Some of the questions are very generic, while other questions are very specific about the player's career and experience. It's a great way to get different insights into a player's career.

Me too. I usually ask 2 baseball related questions and 1 unrelated to baseball like what their favorite food or hobby is.
