Playoff games and World Series, why can't any broadcasters separate the two when giving stats and player accomplishments. Why always........post season, separate the two like it's done so in most publications

They continue to lump the playoff and World Series numbers together with the words post season.
Simple, just say so and so has so many home runs in the playoffs or if they choose Championship Series or the World Series. Look in the record books and most books will separate stats and records as such, different events. Credit to Joe Buck, he is one who at least points out now and then when throwing out numbers, they are different events. I am sure most on this board are well aware that playoff games have added many more at bats over those who played strictly World Series before playoffs began, some listeners are not aware or just don't consider the difference.

Hoping we're not going to split hairs here, we are all aware playoffs and World Series are obviosly both post season events and also two different events.

Manny sure doesnt complain about this trend. Every time he's up to bat one of the announcers will say something about how great he has been in the post season. Yes he's got very impressive postseason stats, but his actual WS stats are far less impressive such as just 5 XBH in 77 WS AB's.

Still, it gives the commentators something to talk about.

Joe Buck is just too much! And combined with Tim McCarver - just the worst pair of announcers ever. They come up with ridiculous stats that have nothing to do with the game and everything about their egos. Why not just announce the game and forget the bull!

Yea I got that, stats that no one would ever think of or place any significance to. These two are not alone in that regard. A while back I placed a post speaking of that, in general some other broadcasters with all the meaningless stuff......the first player ever to do this or that in regular season and post season...............no team has ever done this or that.... on and on.
Some of it of interest but most of it dribble.
