Redemption cards?

I got a redemption card out of a box 08 Topps Chrome Daric Barton Auto.
It the first one I've had in awhile. The 1 good thing is, you can now go online instead of sending in the mail.
The only thing was it tells me not to expect the card until 1/20/09. That almost 4 months. What that all about?
The last one I mailed in and it took about 4 to 6 weeks.
Has anyone had any experience recenty? Or does it have to do with the holiday season coming?
You know, Halloween is such an important holiday.

That's VERY atypical in terms of being fast. 1/20/09 is a far more realistic date for Topps to have all their cards out by.

I got a co-signers redemption back in July. Still have nothing back. I sent them an email about 2 weeks ago and they said expect another 6-8 weeks. Great.
