Based on events that occured in baseball, which season was more memorable: 2004 or 2005? Believe it or not, I actually need some oponions on this.

No question, 2004, great season by my Cards, even if they lost the World Series, it started a new chapter in baseball as we know it, the death of the Curse of the Bambino, and both LCS went the distance, and were exciting.

Definitely not a Current Event here...

Without question 2004.

In 2004 you saw what was one of the best ALCS ever. Arguably the 2003 one was better simply because of that 7th game which was then a washout for the Sox the next year, but to come back as they did under such pressure of the whole curse and Yankees vs Red Sox. World Series was awful.

When the White Sox won in 2005, there was all those years as well, but no story like the Bambino one and most fans were already conditioned to the surprise because of 2004 and the Red Sox winning. Plus that was another awful World Series.

2004 - Red Sox not only finally break through, but do it against the dreaded Yankees while comming back from 3-0 series deficit (and 1 run deficit in game 4). Never happened before and probably wont ever happen again. Couldnt write a story like that and if you did, no one would believe it. Its one of those things where i remember where i was and what i was doing when Roberts stole his base, Mueller got his hit, Damon hit the slam in game 7, and Foulke threw to first to end the WS.

Great times.

I'd have to say 2005, White Sox make it and Astros make it after forever and never.

And let's stop with the revisionist history. I believe it was the most competitive world series ever.
a 4-0 sweep that I believe there was a six run difference over all 4 games. Very easily could have been the other way around. So they were good games.:reporter:

Gotta be 2004. I know I'm a bit of a homer, but has there ever been a more emotional ALCS? And there are moments in the 2004 ALCS that will be remembered forever by Sox fans.

Especially ALCS Game 6. 2004 ALCS game 6 deserves more press than it gets as one of the great playoff games of baseball history. SO many things happened there -- The Slap, the Bloody Sock, Bellhorn's Bomb AKA the REAL first instance of instant replay for home run calls, the day New York's finest had to flank the foul lines, a whole lot of historic moments.

I voted for 2004. They even made a movie about the 2004 season (albeit almost exclusively about the Red Sox). It was called "Fever Pitch." One of the first polls I posted on Baseball-Fever.com had to do with Fever Pitch.

I'd have to go with 2004. The Red Sox overcoming the Yanks 3-0 game lead was incredible, especially after the 2003 ALCS. But often overlooked was the quality of the NLCS between the Cards and the Astros. It went 7 games, had some great pitching, defensive, and offensive performances, featured extra innings, and it seemed like every game was winnable for either team in the late innings.

As a fan whose horse did not make it this far, I can only hope for the 2008 LCS's to be nearly this good.

2004.

Simply because that ALCS is forever SEARED into my memory.

It still haunts me every night saying, "They couldn't win one more damn game?"

That comeback was unreal, and 2004 has to be remembered as one of the most exciting and emotional seasons in the history of baseball.

Forgotten in the amazing and historic ALCS was one of baseball's best NLCS series as well. Beltran and Pujols going back-and-forth destroying baseballs...Edmond's game 6 walkoff...Edmond's game-saving catch in game 7... Rolen's HR off vs. Clemens.

I can't think of 2 better simultanious series happening at the same time.
