I'm looking to get a new pair of spikes. What is a good pair of spikes for catching? I want something with support. I'm a bit older now, so I'm definitely thinking I need a cleat that supports the ankle.
Any ideas?
I found that high top type cleats give the most support for catching .... you could also get ankle braces too if you needed extra. I like Mizuno's (9 spike is my preferred) but I would say try a couple different brands and get what feels good.

3/4 top works well. Not sure if Under Armour has them in metal, But the UA is really comfortable. Also, if you catch with 3/4 top or high top all the time, and switch to a low top.. you WILL notice that your ankles have gotten a lot weaker when you crouch. I'd practice in low top, and use the 3/4 tops for games.
My 2 cents..

Thanks a lot, good advice. I do like the Mizuno 9, but I also like the NIke MVP.
I used to catch in a pair of low Asics gel spikes, but apparently Asics isn't selling baseball cleats in the US anymore, Japan/Asia only.
I also like these 3 N 2's;

Know anything about these?

Jup, the 2k5's are by far the most comfortable cleats i've ever worn.
I used to wear mizuno they are nice too, but they don't have the same comfort/support/looks! as the 2k5's;)
