That call in the top of the 9th on the throw to first could be a game-changer. Should instant replay have been used in that situation? Imagine if it were a tie game right now.

It didn't matter, this time. But sure, replay should be available.
Look at what Harold Reynolds and the TBS production crew had to do with this; they had to show replays from the umpire's point of view, at normal speed, just to illustrate how the call was blown! It is crazy that the replays for such a situation--the tag was slapped down on Dye's back!--are not available to the umpires, no matter how crucial the situation may be.
Game outcome aside, the Rays defense should have been acknowledged for making that great play...
