I think the Rays will take this one, but my heart is with the Sox. I'd love to see Griffey get a ring.

...my heart is with the Sox. I'd love to see Griffey get a ring.
My sentiments precisely.
Although, if it's the Cubs in the NL that would be tough. I would root for the White Sox because of Griffey, but I would root for the Cubs because I feel sorry for them.

oof... this thread isn't getting much love. Do people really care this little about this series? I understand that the Sox get second fiddle coverage in Chicago because of the cursed Cubs, and Florida baseball is Florida baseball, but come on, Griffey, Longoria, hot-headed Ozzie... this has the potential to be an exciting series.

Contrary to what people's general perception of the playoffs, I think this series has all the potential to be the most exiting divisional series of the whole bunch.
The Rays and the Sox(white) are possibly the most dissimmilar team in a playoff machup.
The rays are full of young, up and comers, with boundless potential, with very little experience let alone playoff experience. Then you have The Sox, A team with a strong veteran presence. Players who have been around once or twice, Many of which have had plenty of playoff experice and success.
If I had to choose one Divisional series to watch, It would be this one.

I think the Rays have enough to get through this series...they have significantly better pitching and I'll give them a slight edge in hitting.

The Rays should win this series. They are the superior overall team, have an ounstanding home record, and seem to have the "fire in the belly" feel about them.

Tampa has something in them that looks like the '06 Tigers and '07 Rockies- chemistry that is lacking in other teams and an aura of knowing what to do at the right time to take or sustain a lead to win the game...they will win this series but beyond that I don't think they can ride that chemistry and aura to the World Series.

Im still trying to figure out how the Sox made it to the playoffs. Really the team they have, the injuries theyv had, they have no business being there. And once you add in the collapses in Detroit and Cleveland?? The White Sox are really overachievers.
That and baseball is a funny game. A team thats clicking on all cylinders is going to beat a star studded team that aint. Its a big reason why I love the game so much. Its a game that can humble anyone.
I gove Ozzie a lot of credit for holding it together this year. Ozzie is a good manager even tho a lot of people say bad things about him.
If the Sox can win tonight and come home 1 & 1 they have a decent shot at the Rays. But make no mistake, this is a very good Rays team.

I've seen parts of every playoff game so far. This series has been the most fun.

Rays wins 2nd game @ TB: 6-2.
TB vs BOS in ALCS. I don't think Rays will sweep, but they can classify in 4 games. W-Sox have no team to comeback.HUGE OFFENSE(2nd in SLG!, 1st in HR!, 11 in AVG?), pitching...:silent:(6th in ERA, 3 of the 5 over CHW are in playoffs; 11 in SV:thumbsdown:)
