I hope the ChiSox win tonight and get through the AL
If they and the Cubs get to the Series it would make that cities shoulders even broader
Two of baseballs best mgrs who play by feel and heart and I'd like to see the Cubbie staff vs the Sox bats

Ozzie Guillen one of baseball's best managers?

Playing by feel and heart is a good thing? Ozzie Guillen is one of the game's best managers?

But yeah, I definitely don't like one sports town becoming the center of the sports universe for so long. The subway series was my least favorite World Series ever.

But ya gotta admit just one Cubs-White Sox World Series before we all die would be one of the coolest things ever. At least I would like to see it.

No, I don't have to admit that. It's entirely subjective and definitely not my cup of tea. If I never see an all-Chicago series I'll be just dandy.

This is the first time since 1906 that both the Cubs and White sox are in the postseason at the same time.

I suspect the fans of six other teams intensely disagree with this sentiment. The Talking Heads would be ecstatic, though.

White Sox don't have much of a chance. The Cubs do, but I'm forecasting a Red Sox / Phillies World Series.

I think an all-Chicago World Series would be cool. It would be interesting for me, as a New Yorker, to see a "subway series" from an out-of-towner's perspective.

I can just imagine how much the owners of the rooftops across from Wrigley will be charging for their spaces... if they haven't already sold out!

I think the only Chicago residents who might oppose a Cubs-Sox World Series would be the residents of the Senior Citizen apartment building just beyond the centerfied wall of the "Cell..." all the crowds and noise and stuff.

Of the possible world series this year, this is my ordered level of interest in seeing them:

Rays vs. Cubs
Rays vs. Brewers
Rays vs. Dodgers
Rays vs. Phillies
White Sox vs. Brewers
White Sox vs. Dodgers
White Sox vs. Phillies
Angels vs. Dodgers
White Sox vs. Cubs
Red Sox vs. Cubs
Red Sox vs. Brewers
Red Sox vs. Dodgers
Angels vs. Cubs
Angels vs. Brewers
Angels vs. Phillies
Red Sox vs. Phillies

An "El Series" as opposed to "Subway" would be a good watch.

Only problem would be all of the nasty subliminal ethnic slurs etc that would arise as North siders think they are better that South siders, etc. The hate and venom that I saw on Cubs and White Sox message boards during and after the 2005 World Series was simply disgusting.

That being said, can you imagine if the Cubs finally make it to the World Series and they have to play the red-headed stepchild in Chicago (White Sox), and the White Sox beat them and get two titles in 4 seasons after over 80 years without one?

I think a Dodgers v Angels WS would be awesome. My 2nd choice would be Dodgers v Red Sox, then Dodgers v Rays. My next choices would be Cubs v Angels, then Cubs v Red Sox then Cubs v Rays. Outside those possibilities I am ambivilant.

yes IMO playing with instinct and passion is something I enjoy watching rather then robotic slavery to stats
Ozzie and Lou both have Rings as skippers so in my book ,yes they are two top guys
Looks like it won't happen but those two in one city Series would have been fun

There is a possibility as remote as it may be, that one year we could have the playoffs restricted to just 4 city regions if the following teams qualified:
Giants and A's (Bay Area)
Dodgers and Angels (greater Los Angeles area)
Mets and Yankees (NY)
Cubs and White Sox (Chicago)

I would not want to bet my house on it ever happening but the mind boggles.

That would be the media's dream come true. Hopefully I have a better chance of hitting the Powerball then that ever happening.
