Is it kosher to ask if it's ok to video tape the instruction at a clinic? My son is attending two baseball clinics in the next several weeks. I'm afraid that some or most of what he learns will be lost prior to competitive baseball starting again in the spring. The hitting clinic stuff, we can continue to build on at the batting cages even when the weather turns bad, but the pitching tips may be lost by the spring. He can pitch indoors at our church before and after the basketball league practices there. That's really spotty though because it gets over late and if he has homework left to do, its a no-go.

Anything else that might be helpful to know to get the most out of / prepare for a weekend instructional session?

Shake I had no problem with it, but ours was pro bono... Asking costs nothing.

You can always ask. When I give clinics I have no problem with it. However, some of the bigger clinics will not let you, because the speaker wants you to purchase his drills/instructional DVD that he sells in the lobby of the clinic.

Like Jake said, it doesn't cost anything to ask.
