I was a bit surprised this morning that SportsCenter was referring to Miller Park as the place "affectionately known as Wrigley North" when discussing the Zambrano-no.
It seems to me when I talk to Brewers fans, they adaminetly hate that term (rightfully so!) and it has been a catalyst for a growing rivalry between Brewer Fans and the Cubs (Between the White Sox and Cardinals, Cubs fans have not been able to focus on the Brew Crew enough to truly reciprocate the rivaly as of yet... but it's growing).

My question is are there any other parks/stadiums that are close to one another where the visiting team is so fan dominate over the home team? I think a big problem with this is having two teams from the same League be so close. The only other one I could think that might have this would be the LAD and SD... but Dodger Fans are late to their own home games... what time would they arrive at Petco?

That's funny, because I refer to SportsCenter as the McDonalds of sports journalism.

I can't think of any that are near each other, but Yankees and Sox fans seem to outnumber O's and Rays fans more than almost any other road venue. I know that many NYers head to Florida and the Carolinas for retirement . . . but Washington?

Yankees fans often dominate in both Baltimore and Tampa Bay - Baltimore because it's so close, and Tampa Bay because our ST is in Tampa and there's so many retired New Yorkers down there.

Yankee and Red Sox fans can both be heard at each other's respective stadiums, but neither ever dominates the enemy territory.

What with the new stadium and all I don't know if this is still true but in the old days Mets fans used to outnumber Phillies fans at the Vet. The year the Red Sox came to Philadelphia the Red Sox fans travel en masse to Philly.

Back in June, I went to see a Phillies-Red Sox game with my roomate from Philidelphia. CBP was so overtaken that durring take me out to the ballgame, it sounded like the entire crowd sang "root, root, root, for the Red Sox". The Phillies fans were furious the whole day because there were so many Sox. I new it was bad though, when I walked through the turnstyle and the usher thanked me for being a Yankee fan (I was wearing a Yankee polo shirt). I think that it was just because of the high demand and scarcity of tickets at Fenway plus the relative close distance of Philly from Boston.

I've been to Baltimore and DC when it's been close to 50/50 Phils/O's or Phils/Nats fans. I've also seen Mets/Nats in DC where the Mets fans dominate.

When the Mets come to Philly, it's probably about 70/30 Phils to Mets fans, maybe a bit more, really depends on the game. I don't really blame them though as I can imagine it's a lot cheaper to come to Philadelphia (especially for folks who live in Central NJ).

As for the Red Sox fans, they also show up a lot in Philadelphia, though coincidentally that started happening in 2005.......hmmmmmmm.

The Cubs roster could probably outnumber the Braves fans at Turner Field on some nights.

GAPB has been "Wrigley Ohio" since 2003. It's been getting steadily worse for the Reds - Cincy fans were outnumbered 3-1 at the most recent series.

You can, the only problem is that you probably won't get heard. what with all the Cubs cheering and chanting going on in Miller Park South.

Cleveland fans used to take over Tiger Stadium in the mid-to-late 90's when the Indians had a great team and Jacobs Field was sold out for all those games in a row. The Tigers sucked and attendance was normally low ao it was a good opportunity for Clevelanders to come up to Detroit for a game or two (or three).

On the other hand...when the Tigers played at Wrigley Field in 2006 during interleague play, I bet the majority of the crowds at Wrigley that series were Tiger fans. They made a lot of noise and if you were listening to the games on the radio you never would have know who the home team was.

Until gas prices exploded, Southwest offered a $29 one-way fare from Manchester, NH to Philly. This, along with the difficulty of getting into Fenway, are the prime reasons Baltimore and Philly get overrun.

Mets and Yankees are pretty even, but out of the MLB, the most infestation of away fans would be Rangers fans in the Coliseum.

Mets and Marlins and Nats (somewhat)

Cards fans seem to take over Kauffman Stadium in K.C. during that series. It's only a 4-5 hour drive for people to drive to K.C. from St. Louis.
