Sorry if this topic has been discussed. But how do the fans in cities that have a stadium with many attractions (pools, hotels, 40K square foot malls) within the premises enjoy said ballpark if the team is on the road.
I mean, can they open up Rogers Centre for example for the restaurant and/or shopping mall only?

I know parking in city lots is a certain fee regardless of when you park there, but are the restaurants and/or shopping malls open even if no one is IN the stadium seats?

I'm not sure I'd like to bring a family of 5 (or even a group of friends) to Minnesota's (Best Buy) ballpark JUST for a chicken sandwhich and a Miller if the Twins are playing on the West Coast.

NYS's Hard Rock and NY Steak House will be open 365 days a year.]

I don't think Citi Field's restaurants will be though!

what's wrong with going to a bar just to watch an away game? If I lived closer to Yankee Stadium and I had a job, I'd definately do that.

Well, I was thinking it'd be more like going to the airport (before 9/11) and sitting in the gate terminal, and then going home. Without any reason to be at the airport, buying a souvenir and having some peanuts seems a little pointless...

Unless I am missing the point completely.
