HI folks, Im koufax. new to the place. I spent about 8 hours reading posts here yesterday, looking at pictures of Shea Stadium and Dodger Stadium, in awe of all the stuff here. thanks to all of you who do that stuff.
I have searched for a long time for Camden Yards construction pics, always come up empty. I saw someone here posted 3-4 and I was thrilled, but soes anyone have anything more? I searched the board but didnt see anything, other than those 3-4 i mentioned.
also, I swear when I was there in 1992 I saw a coffee table type book in the gift shop with pictures of the construction. does anyone know about that book or am i just making this up in my mind ?
thanks all, I hope to post here a lot more.

The Baltimore Ballpark Project is a softcover photo essay published in 1992 by Janis Rettaliata, available from Amazon.com.
It is a collection great photos covering all phases of construction of Camden Yards from the initial site demolition until the inaugural season.
It might also still be available through the Baltimore Orioles themselves, but I'm not sure.

You're very welcome! Enjoy!
Sadly, if you've been to Camden recently, you will find to your utter disgust that the outfield skyline vista that was anchored on the left by the Bromo Tower has now been permanently obliterated by the construction of that ugly and silver-boxy Convention Center Paris Hilton Hotel.
Treasure the views shown in the book, because unfortunately, it is no longer there.
Glad to be of help.

I know all about it. what a disgrace.
my wife and I go down to Baltimore once a year, we love that city, and I walked around the new buildings and they look just as bad from the ground level.

this site (ballparks, arenas, and stadiums) which is run by a poster on this site, has a couple dozen construction pictures of camden yards, just browse through the many pics and you'll find them they are in the begining.

I finally got the book, its amazing. the first pic is an aerial shot of what was there the day before construction. I can see the inner harbor, and it looks dead. nothing like today, no espn, no hard rock, no USS Constellation or the sub. the aquarium hadnt been added on to yet. amazing.
ill try to post pics from the book soon.

Actually, the Constellation has been anchored in the Inner Harbor since 1955 or so, although it was restored between 1996 and 1999. Not sure about the sub.
You're right about the ESPN Zone/Hard Rock, which didn't come to the Power Plant complex until 1997. The Aquarium was expanded in 2005.
However, even back in 1992 the Inner Harbor was far from dead. The Aquarium had been around for 11 years, the Science Center since 1976, and Harborplace since 1980. While Oriole Park at Camden Yards helped further the Inner Harbor's boom, it hadn't been the initial spark to it.
