All Draft #3 Tournament Team C vs. Team D

This is long overdue, but here we go…

This is off the 3rd all time draft that we had a couple months ago. At the end of the draft, I would set up a tournament of 8 teams going head to head using polls to determines who wins and goes to the next round. We agree that the History forum would be the best for this. I will include the link to our roster page so you can see the teams in details and some of us have an analysis of our team. There are 6 options in the polls: 3 questions for 2 teams each. The questions are who wins a series? who wins at their prime/best years? and who wins for a career? Also, you can vote in the polls except for the one your team is in it(if you were in the draft). You can vote however the way you want. I hope we can have a discussion on which team is better. The voting will last for a week.

Who wins?

I went with Team C on peak, but Team D in a series and career. Career was a pretty easy pick between these two. On peak, if Team C switch some players around with his offense... he might have the best offensive peak team with bonds/mcgwire/gibson etc... if you don't discount anything for PEDs, which I did for this.

Series is the toughest to vote for in all of the polls. You have to wonder how each team could do in a best of 7 games series. Team C has great defense along with an awesome top 3 pitchers so they'll always be able to compete. Team D can match with their great top 3 pitchers and they have a better offense. What really decided for me was the bullpen where Team D wins by a good margin so that's why I picked Team D.

The five man rotation on D trumps the rest in this project, I think that's enough to narrowly win the series since the offenses seem matched. I also think they're slightly better at their peak and even manage to barely squeak out a career victory.

Getting Bonds and Pedro in their peak or a single series is enough to give that team the edge, IMO.
