Since we love our construction pictures here at baseball-fever.com, I thought I'd start a thread about the biggest stadium project in the history of North America, yes even bigger than New Yankee Stadium.
The new Dallas Cowboys stadium is expected to open in 2009 and seat up to 100,000 fans and will include the world's largest high definition scoreboard and the most expensive personal seat licenses of all the pro sports.
Anyone who has new pictures is strongly encouraged to participate and post. Thanks!

It's like the spaceship from 'Flight of the Navigator' landed in the middle of Texas. No charm, no character, just BIG.

Dude. This is Texas.
Bigger is better.

I think that was the thought when they decided on the PSL's...
They make the ones in the New Meadowlands look like chump change. I think its $100k for some premium seats....
BTW, there was a good few minutes on the construction during Hard Knocks on HBO last week...

Reminds me of the Arizona Cardinals Stadium, which is even uglier IMHO.
It looks like the field slides out like at the Cardinals' stadium, except from what I've heard the Cowboys Stadium will have Field Turf. So what's the point of that?
I can see why they need such a huge video display at the top of the stadium, because the upper deck is in another zip code.
Are there four, or five levels of suites in that thing?

That upper deck at the far side endzone looks like it would give you vertigo... that's one heck of a gap between it and the next level of seats?!:noidea
... and are those field level suites along the bottom there? What view would you get other than a bunch of socks and fancy sneakers?

How the hell could Jerry Jones ever approve this horrible monstrosity? Looking at the rendering above, the inside is the ugliest thing I have ever see (way too busy). It reminds me slightly of Lucas Oil Stadium, which is a brand of ugly all unto itself. What is wrong with architects these days?!

i dont even understand how the endzone seating works...if youre sitting in the middle sections do you need to walk across the other 2 sections to get to your seat?
theres gotta be an updated and more detailed rendering that would show the end zones better...

No charm, no character, just BIG.
Which is what we're all about baby.
The only thing that sucks is that I'll probably never be able to afford to go see my favorite team now. Then again it's hard to afford right now too.
EDIT: I'll pass by it this weekend, i'll try and snap a picture or two.

And some construction pics:
I love that they retained the look of the "Dallas" roof.
God can still watch the Cowboys, at least when it's open.

What is the proximity of this place to their current home Texas Stadium?
It's about 20 min away on the freeway. Saw both when I was there a month ago. The new stadium is visible from miles away, probably visible from the international space station without a telescope. It's just down the road from the Rangers stadium, and totally dwarfs it.

I'll give you guys a heads-up. If you want any pictures from this thread, get them quick. We mods have discussed these non-baseball stadium threads, and, as we're a "baseball only" site, they're pretty certain to disappear shortly.

The old Stadium is in Irving TX, a close suburb of Dallas. The new one is in Arlington, which is between Dallas and Forth Worth. Also, Arlington is the home of the baseball team.

That's really too bad, the benefit of watching other stadiums rise is to compare the amenities and pros & cons to compare to our ballparks.

On one hand, it's nice to consider designs, features, etc from sports outside of baseball.
On the other hand, there always is pigskin-fever, as Seattle1 always says.
And where is this Hockey-fever I hear about?
