I wrote this story already, but I'll post it one more time.
I'm a big Yankee fan and always wanted a Yankee Stadium seat. I'm not the type of person that has to really have an original. I'm kind of cheap actually, but I would like to have a chair like the old Yankee Stadium. By pure luck on E-bay I found a company that was mentioned. Archer Seating in New Jersey. Their website is: http://www.archerseating.com/ . I am not a shill for the company just a very satisfied customer. The seat was $129, shipping was $35 and the wooden treads were $22, for a total of $186. A lot cheaper than $1500-$2000 for a real one. Paint and stripper brought the price to about $250.
I bought a single chair. The metal framing is from Atlanta Fulton County Stadium and the wooden seat and back slats were from Baltimore's Memorial Stadium. It was kind of sloppy looking so I stripped it, sanded it and spray painted the whole thing in pieces royal blue. It came out great. Then I decided to change the color to the original Yankee Stadium green like back in 1961. So I started a thread to get a close match for the green and the great guys here helped me out. I was able to go to the Yogi Berra Museum in Montclair, New Jersey and get a close match for the seat. I used a paint brush and used less than a pint of paint to repaint the chair. I would like to have it powder coated, but as I said already, I'm too cheap.
The only difference with my chair and a real Yankee Stadium chair is a small opening in the side of the framing. Yankee Stadium chairs had them, mine doesn't.

You did an excellent job ! We all want the originals, but at what price? It pains me to see hundreds of seats piled high in the debris of the Polo Grounds. Think of the $$$$ laying there in those pictures. Or all of those Ebbets Field seats being shipped to Hart Island to rot in the elements.
How many of us passed up a chance to buy OYS seats at Korvette's ???
Maybe you should go into the stadium seat restoring business?? Great job.

Thank you for the compliment, but HELL NO!!! Too much work not enough pay. As cheap as I am, I wouldn't want to be charged a couple hundred bucks to restore these seats. I believe most people are also like me.
Thanks again.

I think You Did A Great Job Painting The Chair The Old Yankee Stadium Seat Color, You Got The Right Color And Everything.
That Is Also very cool how the framing is from Atlanta Fulton County Stadium, and the wood seat is from Baltimore Memorial Stadium, but how you painted it to look just like the Pre-Renovated Yankee Stadium Seats Awesome Job!:)
