JFK gave his acceptance speech at the LA Coliseum (http://www.usatoday.com/news/politics/election2008/2008-08-27-then-now_N.htm). These are the only images I could find:

Not a political convention--and not really a "ballpark" (although its site will host a ballpark in a couple of years)--but JFK gave a famous speech in 1962 at the Orange Bowl.

the 88 GOP Conventention was in the LA Superdome. The 92 was in the Houston Astrodome. The others have always been in convention centers and arenas. The Astrodome was a controversy because it required the Astos to have a long roadtrip.

Right, the 92 convention where Pat Buchanan gave his "Red Meat (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iO5_1ps5CAc&feature=related)" speech.

I'm sure the Twins aren't too thrilled with the RNC putting them on the road for 2+ weeks. Strange considering that the convention is in St. Paul.
