Ok I have seen A Thread Called "Old Shea Stadium" With Older Photos Of Shea Stadium, But I have Not Found A Thread For 2008 Being The Final Year At Shea Stadium. The Closest I could find was the "Shea Stadium Countdown" Thread.
But What This Is The 2008 Final Year At Shea Stadium Photos Thread,
And it is a Thread where you can post Photos Of Shea Stadium in it's Final Year 2008.
Have fun Posting!

A kind word to Mr. Milwaukee County Stadium--

First, there are ten billion threads on Shea Stadium already, including one on "Shea Stadium's final countdown."

Secondly, if you are going to start a thread, start a thread; don't just call it the "Official [subject] thread" and then leave it at that.

yea and the pics of Shea in 08' arent really gonna be different then any other recent year accept that you see Citifield out in the parking lot and there are plenty of photos of that.. i think the Old Photos of Shea stadium thread is awsome and hope the pics keep on coming. Soon there will be an official Shea demolition thread as well..

Why Photos Of Shea Stadium From 2008 Are Special, Is Because It is Shea's Final Year, and Also You Can See Citi Field In The Outfield.
Ok Here Some Photos Of Shea Stadium From 2008:

I always knew that Shea was never the most beautiful ball park, but I have great memories.

My dad took me to see my first game and I called a Donn Clendennon HR. "c'mon Donn, hit a home run!" It was probably the first time an adult listened to this nine-year old.

I also took my son to his first baseball game at Shea. His favorite player was Bobby Bonnila, and Bonnila hit one out and thrilled my eight year old.

The concern, as I see it, is two-fold:
Shea Stadium was never renovated to the dramatic extreme Yankee Stadium was. Signage may be different, the scoreboards may have changed, the seats are different, but it's essentially the same structure it was in 1964.
The "Old Shea Stadium Photos" thread implies any photos in that thread were taken in the 1960s or, I guess, 1970s. But in reality, photos of more recent vintage have appeared there as well. I've posted recent photos in that thread myself, but I've always felt a little weird about doing so because the shots weren't "old."

In order to make things easier on all people, I recommend one of the following be done:

Limit photos in the "Old Shea Stadium Photos" thread to those taken no later than, I'd say 1981 - a good demarcation line because 1982 was the first year the message board part of the scoreboard in right field was replaced with the giant Budweiser ad.
Lock this thread, and re-name the "Old Shea Stadium Photos" thread "Shea Stadium Photos." This would 'officially' welcome photos from all years.
I leave it to the professional judgment of the moderator to decide which course of action, if any, is to be taken. :)

(Side note regarding "official" threads: Perhaps only moderators and administrators should be allowed to designate threads "official." The only exception would be something related directly to the poster, for example if I wanted to create a new thread devoted to my photos I could call it it 'the official Gary Dunaier photo thread,' but that's all.)

I rest my case.

This kind of inanity is 'purely male'.

And I love it...and they love us for it.

So, sue me.

lol.

Can we get back to the urinals now?

Save Navin Field.

Don't know about purely male, but it is kind of ridiculous.
