The Marlin's #1 overall pick in this draft is batting .190 with 40 K's in 36 games with the GCL Marlins. Granted, he's only 18 years old, but this doesn't look like it bodes well for his future. On a more positive note, 23 year old catcher Miguel Fermin is batting .367 with 12 HRs for the Jamestown Jammers this season/

It's often tough for high school players (especially) to adjust to a wooden bat. Aside from Devin Mesoraco (who was almost everything Skipworth was billed as, but bats right-handed), Justin Jackson and in a smaller size Josh Vitters and Matt Dominguez REALLY struggled when they first started out.
