Is Carlos Silva, the $48 mil gift Bavasi left the Mariners with, right to criticise his teammates? Everyone knows, outside of April he's been awful. Who is he to question anyone else's effort? Was it a coincidence, that after Silva's rant, Riggleman benched Lopez, even after his HR? How many pitchers from Venezuela are nicknamed "Chief"? Did anyone outside of Marinersville, refer to Freddy Garcia "chief".? I'd take Garcia, even if his shoulder falls off over fat Silva anyday. Lopez has multiple body fat% tests per season in his contract, but Bavasi didn't include the same for Silva? I don't think Silva should be calling out his teammates and threatening physical violence the way he's performed. Especially via the media. A fat 4-13 pitcher's rants don't hold any weight. No pun intended.

Mariners have had a divisive clubhouse since early in the season, pitchers versus position players.....basically leading to McLaren being fired. I mean if he could finger out the probem, without solving it, he should be out the door. Now not too surprised Silva's come out with this.

I've noticed that Silva's belly actually messes with his delivery. He needs to lose a good chunk.

put him on the Further, Aerobic, Training, squad.
I like Silva. I just wish he'd figure things out. He pitched better in the homerdome.

A leader? Yes, I believe he'll lead the majors in losses this season.

The funny thing is to imagine a position player of Siva's caliber calling out teamates....who would take him serious? And these comments are obviously directed at Ichiro becuase he always emphasisis base hits, but his critiques of not trying to advance runners and the like are absurd. Out the door McLaren stated the biggest problem with this team was jealousy in the clubhouse. I'm sure he was refering to guys being jealous of Ichiro. Imagine Kaz Matsui calling out John Smoltz......... This is as ridiculous! As a matter of fact I apologize to Matsui...he is a better player than Silva as a pitcher.
