A while back I posted some hitting clips. I have a couple more up on my Youtube channel that are more recent- a few days ago. They are titled "batting 5" and "batting 6". Comments and advice on technique would be appreciated.

Here is the channel by the way: http://www.youtube.com/user/cards2222

I like the swing but you need to practice running the bases some. I see you landed in the middle of first base. IMO try to hit the inside corner of the bag either foot. I think you could start a little more vertical and then create some bend . The lower half could also get involved in the loading to help load the body better to launch.

Not bad for a "hit for average" swing..........

Lack of any negative move, and separation into toe-touch will keep in the yard..........

Looks like it works for you, so I'd stick with it..........

wow. you see separation into toe touch from that clip?
at toe touch the lower torso looks square (hips parallel to the length of the box, front hip not opened) to me. can you demo the separation that you see?

he wraps the bat and makes contact with a bent front leg.

Dannyboy you need to read his full sentence. What he said was "Lack of any negative move, and separation into toe-touch will keep in the yard...." Hence the word "lack" being of importance.

I'm not familiar with a lot of these technical terms:cap:. What does negative move and separation into toe-touch mean?

by negative movement....if i were to punch you in the face and had my fist at shoulder height, would i rotate back before punching forward or would i just take my fist from my shoulder to your face? What would hurt you more?

by separation into toe-touch

look at pujols here, up to this point, his hands have been moving slightly back (negative movements) and his hips are beginning to rotate. he is showing body-segment separation, the hips are moving not only well ahead of the hands and shoulders but before them (i.e NOT simultaneous)
