What should I really be doing for batting? I've been making decent contact and working on my swing just more power would help me out a lot. I'm around 5'11 but only 140 pounds, and I've still been able to have decent WTP with an aluminum bat.

no core/shoulders/legs? After watching a guy like Brett Lawrie I'd love to be able to manhandle a bat like that.

Compound lifts like squats, deadlifts, and cleans will build overall general strength. For sport-specific work, you can work in woodchops or other twist-like exercises with resistance on cable cross machines in your local gym.

And plenty of med-ball work.

Definitely. One-legged medball touchdowns (a Dick Mills favorite, I am told), med-ball twists, Russians with a med-ball, star jumps with one, chest passes, etc, etc. Great stuff.

I would work on core a good amount and legs. The upperbody is really just kind of there because of how rotational power works. Don't try and get real huge like a football player either ... make sure you know what the differences between hypertrophy/strength/power levels of reps and weight are .... remember you aren't playing a contact sport so hypertrophy (increase in muscle size) isn't really needed a whole lot.

Thing is I'm almost a triple A hockey player, haha, but I have never really worked on getting huge for that, I rely on my speed and my wits. a good core body helps too.

Do you guys have a link to a site that has good medball excercises?

Unbreakable Abs by jon doyle seems pretty legit it is like $50 though. Yeah I had friends that played football and baseball and some of them would run into the problem of getting too big but its not too hard to control. Also there probably isn't a big problem with hypertrophy on your legs its the upperbody where problems come into play.

Hit a tire with a sledgehammer. That is a great one.
