If you were the GM of a baseball team, any team, name a move you would make. State why you would make the move and how it would help.

PASS.
I think fans of opposing teams can decide whether they would take it or not.
I'd like a trade for either Ron Mahay, Mark Lowe, or Heath Bell. Of course it would cost prospects, but I know each organization would be looking for something different.. maybe a Ryan Kalish/Yamaico Navarro type thing.

Heath Bell to Brewers for Tony Gwynn Jr. and Tim Dillard (good AAA pitching prospect) OR other prospect
- Brewers could definitely beef up their bullpen for the home stretch. Gagne, Mota are unreliable and 36 yr old Torres is the closer... worst bullpen of the true contenders... Heath Bell could back up Torres closing... Padres get Tony Gwynn Jr. which is good since they need both CF and leadoff man... legitimate prospect and good defensive OF... Get starter pitching prospect..
Orioles C Ramon Hernandez + Chad Bradford to Yankees for Melky Cabrera + prospect
Yankees need starting catcher since Posada is out indefinitely... Jose Molina automatic out at the plate although good defensively... Bradofrd reliable & experienced 7th inning guy... Cabrera expendable with acquisition of Nady... Has dissapointed with bat this year... Brett Gardner brings better speed dimension makes Cabrera expendable... Carbrera-Jones-Markakis form good nucleus for young outfield.
Mariners RP J.J.Putz to Cardinals for 3 prospects (Nick Stavinoha, Joe Mather or others)
Cardinals need closer since Izzy and Franklin keep giving it up... Putz now healthy again... Mariners have TONS of power & younger arms to replace Putz at closer soon... Seattle could really use some major league ready position players (1B/corner OF) who can hit...
Padres P Greg Maddux to LA Dodgers for prospect
Dodgers need starting pitching and Maddux pitched well for them in half season '06... Padres farm system is very thin
Rockies RP Brian Fuentes - Jays RP Scott Downs to Cardinals, Phillies, Tigers, Brewers, Diamondbacks for prospects.
-Who couldn't use a good lefthanded reliever down the stretch!

Then why the hell would the Orioles want him? Melky for Hernandez might be possible. But not Bradford.
Hard for me to think of a trade for the Mets. They can't get anyone major b/c of their prospects. Most guys on the team aren't expendable either.

Fuentes and good in the same sentence? Isn't this the same guy who had a Turnbow-like meltdown last year and was replaced by Manny Corpas just after the All-Star break? Fuentes will blow saves, there is no question about that. For that reason, I'd like to see Detroit get him instead of Huston Street.

Adam Dunn to Arizona for MiL RHP Jarrod Parker
The Diamondbacks are facing a strong challenge for the division crown by LA (who just acquired Casey Blake) so the pressure is on. They have a young team and a great nucleus of a rotation already, but could badly use another left-handed bat and their production from left field (Eric Byrnes) has been very subpar this season. Dunn would give the team a legitimate power threat in the middle of the order, a left-handed bat and the kind of presence in the lineup that would bolster the team's chances of reaching October. Arizona can afford to let go of a pitching prospect in exchange for a difference-maker in their playoff hunt this year. Dunn is also the kind of guy who could win them a game in the playoffs. I'd take Paker or Max Scherer in exchange, but more attention has been on Scherer lately since his AFL performance so Parker might be a little easier to pry away. The payoff for the Reds should be obvious. Beats a compensatory draft pick next June.
Ken Griffey Jr. to Tampa Bay for MiL SS Reid Brignac
Brignac is an outstanding defensive shortstop who is having trouble hitting AAA pitching this season but is only 22 years old. Tampa Bay has both the Red Sox and Yankees nipping at their heels and has the worst production in the league from the DH spot (with only Cleveland competing for that title.) Griffey lives not far from Tampa and there's an option year for '09 at a "reasonable" price in his contract if the team wanted to exercise that. He's also one of the most popular faces in the game so Tampa is gonna sell even more tickets over the next two months. Griffey also has playoff experience (though it's been a while) and would be a good veteran presence on a very young team in need of keeping their nerve in the weeks ahead.

I think the Yankees would pass on that one. With the Nady trade they are stretching their farm system thin and I doubt they'd want to give up their top prospect and an additional prospect to get two OK players.

Doesn't make any sense. Griffey Jr. has declined pretty badly... The already have a lefthanded bat with power in Cliff Floyd... Eric Hinske providing as much pop as Griffey is with Cincy... Josh Bartlett not a good permanent solution at SS... Even at a 'reasonable' price, Griffey still costing $12M+ next year and TB cant afford that.
Your first trade makes much more sense.

I never said the Yankees should give up a top prospect. Borderline prospect or major league ready bat like SHelley Duncan. Intera division trades rarely happen though. It would make alot sense for both teams though.

After the trade you proposed, I believe you forfeited the privilege of being a serious arbiter of others' suggestions.
